Abstract
A field experiment was carried out at Research Farm of AICRP-Weed Management, Chatha, SKUAST-Jammu during the Rabi (winter) season of 2016-17 and 2017-18 to study the efficacy of different herbicides against weeds and their effect on growth and yield of vegetable peas. Results revealed that among the ready-mix herbicidal treatments, pendimethalin + imazethapyr at 1250 g/ha as pre-emergence produced less weed density (m2) for both broad-leaved and grassy weeds during both the years. It was also found that the pendimethalin + imazethapyr at 1250 g/ha as pre-emergence significantly enhanced the growth attributes at 50 days after sowing compared to the other herbicidal applications. Pendimethalin + imazethapyr at 1250 g/ha as pre-emergence and pendimethalin + imazethapyr at 1000 g/ha as pre-emergence proved as effective weed management treatments and recorded significantly higher green pod yield, net returns, and benefit: cost ratio compared to other treatments.
